Conference Introduction

Rural and island communities worldwide stand at the front lines of global economic, environmental, and climate challenges. To build lasting resilience, these regions require practical, integrated solutions that link scientific innovation directly with policy and local action.

The 18th International Conference on Environmental and Rural Development (18th ICERD) addresses this critical need under the theme:

“Sustainable and Resilient Island and Rural Futures: Integrating Policy, Education, Environment, Agriculture, Food, Innovation, and Infrastructure.”

Jointly organized by the International Society of Environmental and Rural Development (ISERD), Palawan State University, and the ERECON Institute, this conference serves as a vital global platform for researchers, educators, policymakers, and community leaders. By uniting key disciplines, from agricultural innovation and environmental management to infrastructure and education, the 18th ICERD fosters actionable strategies to secure sustainable livelihoods and empower rural and island communities for the future.

Call for Abstracts

Potential participants were invited to submit an abstract through Google Forms. Screening of abstracts by the Conference Secretariat is based on relevance to the theme of the conference. Authors should indicate whether they wish to make oral or poster presentations. Due to the limited time available, the oral presentations were selected based on the quality of the abstracts and to provide a diversity of presentation topics and presenters. These abstracts, which are accepted but cannot be scheduled for oral presentations, are presented as posters.

Abstracts of all conference presentations will be published and distributed at the conference, and full manuscripts will be published in the International Journal of Environmental and Rural Development, IJERD, an indexed journal in ‘J-STAGE,’ ‘EBISCO, ‘AGRICOLA,’ GOOGLE SCHOLAR, etc., after a peer-reviewing process.

Please submit the abstract (*Template of Abstract *) on October 30, 2026, through (…). After the deadline period, the abstract is no longer accepted.

All potential authors are invited to submit the full manuscript through the Google Form (FORMS_ICERD-18) to the ISERD Secretariat. However, please note that the full manuscript will not be accepted without the 17th ICERD registration proof.
