IJERD promotes data transparency and reproducibility in its published research and content. Data linking and statements must be complete, clear and accessible.
Authors must include a Data Availability Statement with their content submission indicating where and how data supporting their IJERD publication can be accessed. In the event that data cannot be accessed, the authors must indicate that the data is not available with inclusion of relevant explanatory notes.
IJERD shall accept the Data Availability Statement used by the author’s sponsoring organization. If the author does not have access to an internal Data Availability Statement, the author shall use the IJERD Data Availability Statement.
Data Availability and Reproducibility Policy for IJERD
- Commitment to Transparency: IJERD is committed to promoting transparency and reproducibility in research by encouraging authors to share data and materials supporting their published results.
- Data Sharing: Authors should make research data available in suitable public repositories whenever possible, following ethical, legal, and privacy considerations.
- Data Availability Statement: All research and synthesis articles must include a Data Availability Statement that clearly describes the availability of supporting data, whether openly available, available upon request, or unavailable due to restrictions.
- Reproducibility: Authors are encouraged to share not only datasets but also the associated methodologies, analysis scripts, and protocols to enable reproducibility of results.
- Exceptions: If data sharing is restricted by privacy concerns, ethical standards, or legal regulations, authors must clearly explain these restrictions in their Data Availability Statement.
- Peer Review of Data: When applicable, peer reviewers may assess whether shared data and materials appropriately support the findings in the manuscript.
Data Availability Statement Template Examples
- Open Data: “The data that support the findings of this study are openly available in [repository name] at [URL or DOI], reference number [reference number].”
- Data Available on Request: “The data that support the findings of this study are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request due to [reason].”
- Restricted Data: “The data that support the findings of this study are not publicly available due to [privacy/ethical/legal] restrictions.”
- No New Data: “Data sharing is not applicable to this article as no new datasets were generated or analyzed during the current study.”
Authors are encouraged to cite datasets properly in their references when data is shared, to enhance credit and traceability of shared data. <=BACK
