IJERD’s Plagiarism and Redundant Publication Policy is a zero-tolerance policy related to plagiarism, self-plagiarism and redundant publication applicable to all authors and stakeholders and for any and all content.
All content submissions are screened using plagiarism detection tools. Violations of the IJERD Policy shall result in immediate and complete rejection of submitted content. If violations of the Policy are detected or reported post-publication, an immediate retraction is required. IJERD will conduct a post-retraction review and determine if a time-limited or total ban of the author or stakeholder is justified.
All IJERD decisions related to the Plagiarism and Redundant Publication Policy shall be final and without the possibility of appeal.
Plagiarism Policy
- Zero Tolerance: IJERD has a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding plagiarism and unethical publishing behavior. Authors must ensure that their submissions are original works and properly attribute all sources.
- Definition: Plagiarism includes copying ideas, words, data, or results from others without proper citation, as well as self-plagiarism where previous works are recycled without acknowledgment.
- Screening: Every manuscript submitted will undergo plagiarism detection using tools such as Turnitin. Manuscripts with similarity scores above a set threshold (e.g., 20%) require reduction of similarity before acceptance.
- Consequences: Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism are subject to immediate rejection or withdrawal of acceptance if discovered post-review or post-publication. Actions may include corrections, retractions, and notification to authors’ institutions.
- Responsibilities: Authors must cite all sources accurately, including direct quotations, paraphrased ideas, and data. They must avoid any misleading representation of originality and acknowledge all contributors appropriately.
Redundant Publication Policy
- Originality Requirement: Submissions to IJERD must describe original research not previously published or under consideration elsewhere. Duplicate or redundant publications of substantially similar content are prohibited.
- Concurrent Submission: Authors must not submit the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously. This is considered unethical and grounds for rejection.
- Republishing: In cases where republishing is necessary (e.g., translation or secondary publication), authors must clearly cite the original source and obtain appropriate permissions.
- Disclosure: Authors should disclose any related manuscripts under review or in press elsewhere to the IJERD editorial office at submission.
Editorial Procedures and Compliance
- The editorial team, reviewers, and ethics committees will rigorously enforce these policies to uphold academic integrity.
- Alleged cases of plagiarism or redundant publication will be investigated promptly, following COPE guidelines for ethical publishing.
- Authors will be informed of the results and may be given an opportunity to respond or correct issues where appropriate.
- Continuous education on academic ethics is promoted among all IJERD contributors. <=BACK
